The location is great for exploring local culture.
I was thoroughly frustrated with the hot water situation. Having to wait 50 minutes to take a shower is absurd! The absence of hotel staff on-site for any issues only added to the annoyance. The noise level at night.

Absolutely perfect and very special location just next door to the Downtown Triangle offering lots of cafes and the Mechane Yehuda marketplace right across the street, fab food. Units in the balconies. The staff - knowledgeable and flexible.

Does it deliver?
Charming, spacious room with two sunny balconies-perfect for families. Close to public transport and vibrant local markets!
Noise from nearby market can be bothersome for a restful night. Hot water took far too long to become usable, impacting showers .

The hotel was charming looking and reasonably priced. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, some of them especially. Had a well-appointed and stocked room to myself with bathroom and terrace, for example. The location was perfect and stunning: a local market and an excellent market were within walking distance...

The best culinary find was definitely Aricha Sabich, just a few steps away-it's a must for an authentic local bite! Our room had a charming balcony overlooking residential lanes and the old Jerusalem stone gives it such a cozy feel. The staff was super helpful!
The kitchen wasn't fully equipped. We were told it's because of theft, but that shouldn't stop honest guests from having what they need! Plus, a bit more attention to cleaning would make things just shine!

We stayed at the Market Courtyard for 5 nights. The location was excellent, right opposite the Mahane Yehuda market and yet, it was located in a quiet neighbourhood. The studio apartment was of very high quality, with the latest IKEA equipment. It was very easy to cook our own meal and to enjoy it on the wonderful balcony. The airconditioning and tv were perfect as well, even though IBA channel 1 didn't work on the tv, which was a shame, as that's where the 2012 London Olympics were broadcasted in Israel at the time. ;) The staff were kind as well. We had a very enjoyable stay!
We stayed on the third floor and there was no elevator, making it a bit of a difficult climbing up and down, especially with the suitcases.

The cozy, covered courtyard is a lovely spot to enjoy the ambiance of the hotel and relax after a day of exploring.
While the location is fantastic, noise from the nearby market can be disruptive during the night and early morning, especially if your room has a view.

The location was excellent. We had a balcony right opposite the bustling Market where we sat and observed the life of the city. There was a tram stop very near which took us to the old city in 2 stops or the central bus station 2 stops the other way. Alternatively you could walk! The staff were more than helpful and we had a great holiday.
We would have preferred 2 single beds instead of the double and a mirror in a more accessible place than in the wardrobe.

The location is fantastic, right across the street from Mahane Yehuda market and just a two minute walk to the light rail. The staff, including Dina, the proprietor of The Market Courtyard, are all really great. Dina is really warm, friendly, and casual, and makes you feel welcome the moment you arrive. On top of that, the apartments beat staying at a hotel any day. Ours was furnished simply with everything that we needed, but with no extra fussiness. It was a very comfortable stay and I would stay there again if I ever go back to Jerusalem!
